 The Safe®

Optional Interface Capabilities

The Safe® allows optional interfaces to external systems. To minimize source code changes that are usually required to customize interfaces, MainSoft provides user maintained copybooks as a client courtesy. The most common systems interfaced to The Safe® are:

Customer Information System - The Safe's® common online i/o module, SDBO900, calls SDBO888. SDBO888, which must be customized by each client, sets up the temporary queue to hold the customers data and link to the external Customer Information System. Each client must modify 888 to pull their CIF information as necessary for their existing "CIF "system.

Code exists within SDBB050 (identified as EH0148) to address batch CIS activity but the code is commented out of the source when shipped. If the client wishes to use this functionality the code commented out in SDBB050 must be uncommented.

Lockbox payment processing - Payments processed through an external lockbox may be fed to The Safe® during daily processing. If you are going to automatically update accounts on The Safe® by feeding a transaction file from your LOCKBOX system the file fed to The Safe® should follow the same basic format as the transaction file. Use copybook SDBC025 as a guideline for your input file. The file created will be merged with the file output by SDBB030 (SP030o1) . This combined file is then sorted and input into SDBB050 in proc SDPDAB50.

General Ledger - The Safe's® program SDBB050 creates a posted transaction file. SDBB191 then reads the Posted Transaction file and appends a general ledger account number (C.17 definition) and profit unit (C.17 and C.1-4) to each posted transaction record. SDBB192 will then read the general ledger file created by SDBB191 and summarizes the records by general ledger number within profit center.

The format of the general ledger record will vary from installation to installation. Copybooks SDBC923 ( used by SDBB191) and SDBC924(used by SDBB192) are provided as a courtesy to the client but must be customized as necessary to format the records to be acceptable to you existing general ledger.

ACH - The Safe's® program SDBB050 will create a file in standard NOCHA format. Copybook SDBC919 is provided as a courtesy to the client to allow the client to modify the records to meet the individual installations needs. The routing transit id's, transaction codes, etc. used in the records are the result of online definitions made on the C.1- 4 and C.15 screens.

Platform systems - The Safe® can accommodate data streaming or "screen scraping" requirements for interfacing with your existing platform system. The Safe® can replace a system currently operating through your platform system and the end users never know the system was changed.

Security - All transfer paths within The Safe® lead through program SDBO009. SDBO009 may be modified to provide a generic access to all users of the system (or any subgroup not defined individually). The levels of access necessary to use each program in the online are maintained in copybook SDBC700.
